BAHRAIN PAVILION EXPO SHANGHAI

Client: Kingdom of Bahrain
Theme: Pearl of the Gulf, Small is Beautiful

Type: Prebuilt Rented Pavilion in National Pavilion Hall
Scope: Interior Design & Fitout

In a hall shared by several neighbouring countries the Bahrain Pavilion at World Expo 2010 was relatively compact in size. The main aim was to highlight the progressive reputation Bahrain has in the Middle East region as an open modern and dynamic economy.

To fulfil this brief and manage the limitations of space, our team developed a stylish, modern interior with a single directional flow. Highlights of the pavilion journey included replica archaeological exhibits and mini video documentaries, presenting the chronological sequence of Bahrain’s history and development.

The pavilion façade was a visual statement of Bahrain’s cultural identity and modernity. The centrepiece of the pavilion was a larger-than-life replica of Bahrain’s famous Pearl Diver Sculpture.
